These 11 stories aim to show what it means to provide quality, safe and effective care to diverse populations. These stories represent one of many possible scenarios, experiences, outcomes and nuances that would be relevant to the diversity competence standards. The number of stories we could create are infinite.
These stories are meant to be starting points to talk about what are the different skills sets, issues, character traits, behaviours and attitudes we should have to provide diversity competent care. We ask you broad questions that point to main themes you might want to think about. However, these questions do not point to the only important themes.
Diversity competency training is an on-going and lifelong process. This art gallery is meant to be one place where this learning can occur and where conversations can begin.
